Pieces for choir, from SATB to SSAATTBB. Largely liturgical, heavily inspired by middle English choral composers.
I SING OF A MAIDEN (SATB)
Notes: A setting of the 15th C. carol "I Sing Of A Maiden". Broadly styled as appropriate to that era, beginning with simple homophony and becoming darker and more mysterious with each verse. Chosen for ORA's "Christmas Gift" initiative and recorded live under Suzi Digby.
Notes: a setting of Matthew 3:16-17, composed to span a range of choral orchestration - beginning and ending with simple, near-unembellished homophony, with a section of solo, duo and trio voices building to the work's centrepiece of dramatic polyphony.
